Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and bilingual (Spanish/English) Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, proficiency in insurance verification, and experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Familiarity with AdvancedMD, orthopedic, or pain management practices is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Desk Operations:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars effectively.
- Insurance Verification:
- Verify insurance coverage for no-fault, workers’ compensation, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Obtain authorizations for prescriptions, procedures, and diagnostic imaging as needed.
- EMR Management:
- Accurately input and maintain patient records using EMR systems (AdvancedMD experience preferred).
- Patient Support:
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a courteous manner.
- Assist patients with completing forms and understanding insurance benefits.
- Other Duties:
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth office operations.
- Assist with billing and claims submission when required.
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist or similar role.
- Insurance verification experience, particularly no-fault, workers’ compensation, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with EMR systems (AdvancedMD is a plus).
- Familiarity with obtaining prior authorizations for prescriptions and procedures is a plus.
- Specialized Knowledge:
- Experience in orthopedic and/or pain management practices is a strong advantage.
