As a Supervisor within Accounting and Advisory Services, you will be a client liaison with a team of accountants who fulfill outsourced accounting, business processes, controllership, and financial planning and analysis engagements. Your clients span a broad range of industries and have complex needs, including consolidations, foreign currency accounting, and consulting on best practices.
Essential Functions
Supervise client accounting and advisory engagements by effectively communicating needs, technical accounting knowledge, and practical solutions to client, staff, and management challenges.
Lead and oversee many recurring outsourced controllership engagements, business advisory services, and ad hoc projects using organizational skills to keep up with due dates and changing timelines.
Review the work of team members and train them in the learning and development of balance sheet account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, payroll taxes, and other responsibilities.
Hold implementation meetings with new clients to design and execute engagement deliverables and ensure team accountability for client service.
Collaboratively communicate with stakeholders to identify and solve complex problems around client-specific operational and accounting matters.
Prepare financial statements under multiple bases of accounting, including cash and accrual for the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, and other supporting schedules.
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to learn and keep up with industry changes.
Use data extraction and reporting tools to demonstrate trends and develop meaningful conclusions for management consideration.
Knowledge of financial ratios, analytical techniques, and the relationship between accounts to create and maintain ad hoc reporting, modeling, and performance metrics.
Prepare payroll tax return forms 1099, W-2, 941, 940, and required state forms.
Proficient learner of concepts, client business environment, and software applications as required by the firm or client to assist with coaching the firm or client staff when necessary.
Adhere to the professional ethics of the firm, the AICPA, and the Georgia Society of CPAs.
Adhere to firm policy regarding client confidentiality.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or another relevant degree program.
CPA license preferred.
Three to five years of accounting experience, including three or more years of public accounting in client accounting and advisory services.
