Smith Johnson Law Firm is seeking a qualified Legal Assistant with three or more years of office experience for a temp to a permanent position. This position is expected to last from March 24 through July 31, 2025, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.
The ideal candidate must have experience with all programs in Microsoft Office and must possess excellent writing and typing skills.
The candidate should expect to be in constant communication with potential and current clients, court staff, other law offices, and administrative agencies, so the ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in written correspondence is essential. It is also expected for the candidate to have the utmost discretion.
The duties that the legal assistant is expected to perform include: completing all assigned clerical tasks in a timely manner; tracking billable time; calendaring appointments; and ensuring the client files are up to date and organized. Additional job duties include greeting clients, answering incoming calls, managing e-mail correspondence, and scanning and relaying client documents.
The candidate should be self-motivated, team-oriented, have a professional demeanor, have the ability to work independently of instruction, and demonstrate proficiency to focus on the smallest details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized under stressful situations.
The candidate should expect to work 8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, so punctuality is mandatory. This position is full-time. Salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
