What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler/Shop Hand (Cameron, OK) position at Smith & Loveless Inc?
We are a MIG – GMAW fabrication shop / manufacturer building new pressure vessels and performing repairs and/or alternations on existing pressure vessels. We are searching for an Assembler / Shop Hand to support our Fabrication shop. This position is responsible for the layout, fit-up, clean, and assembly of new fabrications, purchased parts, and sub-assemblies, so that all products meet manufacturer standards. It is full-time with hourly pay with benefits and is onsite Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Cameron, Oklahoma.

Job Requirements:
- 1 year of relevant experience in a fabrication environment
- Mechanically inclined and very reliable
- Ability to operate a forklift is preferred
- Experience reading blueprints
- Can take direction and work with a team in complex productions
- Able to read a tape measure
- Shipping, Receiving and inventory control experience is preferred
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
Specific Duties:
- Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, bills of material, cutting lists, etc.
- Grinds and/or de-burs material as required
- Selects raw materials to be cut from yard
- Uses drawings to determine how assemblies should be made
- Positions materials by using an overhead crane
- May perform simple cleaning maintenance operations
- Reports abnormal parts or conditions to supervisor
- Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly
- Ensure proper dimensions of cut parts
- Required to operate the metal band saw to cut steel for parts
- Keep work area neat and clean.
