Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Production Engineer is responsible creating 3D models for new product designs and creating accurate drawings for production so the product is built properly. Broadly speaking, the incumbent will provide engineering excellence and design engineering functions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Completing production and design projects while coordinating with supervisors and other departments.

Creating 3D models using Inventor from specs provided by Application Engineers working with customers and consulting engineers.

Building 2D drawings with proper dimensions and annotations for production to occur accurately.

Modifying, preparing, and checking submittals, manufacturing and production drawings, and Bills of Materials for the control and distribution of Company products.

Working closely with other designers, drafters, engineers, application engineers, and engineering managers with a team spirit to produce excellent models, drawings, and Company products.

Moving flexibly from project to project as business needs dictate to fulfill orders in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Minimum BS Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferred Mechanical Engineering Degree. Must be trained or capable of being trained in engineering software such as CAD and other Company software tools.
EXPERIENCE: 0-7 years experience working as a production engineer in a manufacturing environment. Preferred experience with product design and production engineering, using AutoCAD electrical drawings, and using engineering tools such as AutoCAD and MathCAD. Experience with finite element analysis, fluid dynamics and/or structural design considering wind and seismic conditions a plus.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must be organized and motivated to meet deadlines, detail oriented, and accurate. Proficient in Microsoft Applications, spreadsheet computer programs, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and other engineering software tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal office environment; ability to walk around making observations on equipment in the shop and in the field.
EQUIPMENT: PC, phone, calculator, engineering specific software, fax, copier, and other normal office equipment as needed.
OTHER: Occasional travel as required. Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
