GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible for assisting our quality control team in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Responsible for providing complete inspection throughout the various phases of manufacturing to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including any deviations from quality standards.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for review by senior quality control personnel.
- Collaborate with quality assurance team members to identify areas for improvement in production processes.
- Assist in implanting corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
- Assist in conducting tests of both electrical and mechanical products.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and optimizing production efficiency.
- Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, engineering, and procurement to address quality-related issues and implement solutions.
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Quality Manager.
- Keep work area neat and clean.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years building & testing control panels. 2 years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and to use standard measuring tools. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. Good communications skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing 75% of the day with frequent walking to all plant areas including the visual inspection of products in the yard. Some climbing as consistent with using a ladder for inspection purposes.
EQUIPMENT: Standard measuring tools, micrometers, vernier calipers, tapes, and surface plate tools (basic height gauges or indicators), test area equipment, industrial analyzers, tachometers, amprobes, vibrometers, thermometers, and pressure and vacuum gauges. Two-way radio, safety glasses, safety shoes, PC, phone, digital camera, and other normal office equipment or tools as needed.
OTHER: Occasional travel required (10%).
