Smith & Loveless is united under one cause: “Protecting Water. Protecting People.” We are seeking a Warehouse Worker / Material Handler to partner with our experience warehouse team in this environmentally focused industry.
A Warehouse Worker / Material Handler at Smith and Loveless will operate material handling equipment to move, load and unload materials as necessary using forklifts, cranes, tractor/trailers, trucks, etc. and manually move materials and finished products to storage, production, and loadout.

Skills/Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience required. Manufacturing warehouse experience preferred.
- Previous forklift experience and certification required.
- Ability to read work orders, pull material and count inventory.
- Demonstrated good work attendance.
- Must be able to work diligently and maintain urgency to complete tasks timely.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
Job duties
- Moves and inventories materials within factory areas or outside production facilities as assigned and prepares for shipping.
- Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps equipment and area clean and orderly.
- Works from verbal instructions, bills of material, material requisitions and other documents.
- Unload and load purchased materials and/or manufactured products from or onto trailers and rail cars.
- Manually move some materials and secure load(s) with chains, binders, and straps and performs hooking operations.
- Reports abnormal conditions or material and equipment to supervisor on a daily basis.
- Operates material handling equipment in rigging, pick-up or delivery of materials and equipment.
- Constructs creates, boxes, and forms.
- Checks equipment before operating (i.e., tires, gas, oil, water)
- Weighs and labels as required for shipment or storage.
- Stores or issues materials from or to designated areas as directed
- Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.
- Keep work area neat and clean.

- Specific vision abilities required by the role include the ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.
- Ability to ascend and descend two (2) flights of stairs.
