Position: Women’s Health Clinician
Location: Smith Medical Clinic (Pawleys Island and Georgetown, SC)

Overview:
Smith Medical Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinician to provide comprehensive reproductive health care in accordance with evidence-based guidelines and Smith Medical Clinic, Inc. standards of care across a culturally diverse population for low-income, uninsured residents of Georgetown County. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Nurse Midwife, Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with strong leadership abilities, flexibility, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
· Provide comprehensive reproductive and menopausal health care, including contraception, family planning, and support for menopausal symptom management.
· Work with team members to assure adequate inventories of all necessary supplies, educational materials, forms, contraceptives and other items necessary to ensure uninterrupted contraceptive service to patients.
· Secure and record complete health history.
· Conduct and record appropriate medical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system.
· Provide contraceptive methods without bias as established by protocol and/or medical policy.
· Document all aspects of client care utilizing Smith Clinic Electronic Medical Record software and web-based programs and applications.
· Complete appropriate client follow-up as established by protocol and/or medical policy.
· Initiate appropriate referrals for care necessary, beyond that which is available at Smith Medical Clinic, Inc.
· Provide client-centered contraceptive care counseling.
· Review lab and test results and communicate with patients to ensure appropriate follow up.
· Collaborate with volunteer medical staff and ensure that clinical services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
· Implement and monitor women’s health clinical protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Communicate effectively with patients in a manner that protects their confidentiality and is sensitive to their culture physical and spiritual / religion practice.
Team Management:
· Participate in regular team meetings with the clinical director, behavioral health counselor and women’s health nurse to review patient care, trends in women’s health, clinic operations, and identify areas for improvement.
· Promote a collaborative and supportive environment for all team members, including staff and volunteers.
Administrative Responsibilities:
· Work closely with the Executive Director and Clinical Director to plan and implement women’s health and wellness programs and initiatives.
· Assist in quality improvement efforts by analyzing women’s health clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
· Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Certified Nurse Midwife in the state of South Carolina.
· Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in primary care, urgent care, or community health.
· BLS certification required (either current or within 90 days of starting employment)
· Prior experience in leadership or management roles is preferred.
· Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work tactfully with patients, staff, and volunteers.
· Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required
· Ability to work independently while also fostering a collaborative team environment.
· Commitment to serving the underserved and understanding the unique challenges faced by low-income, uninsured patients.
· Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
· Part-time role, with flexible hours (2 days per week, 12-16 hours per week).
· Occasional evening hours may be required based on clinic needs.
