Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

Smith Metal Source’s Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in increasing profitability, managing inventory, and generating revenue through new and existing accounts. Consistent and timely communication with customers, prospects, vendors, and other employees of Smith Metal Source is essential for the effectiveness of sales, service, and ultimately profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company’s products and services
  • Provide fair, competitive quotes while maintaining profitable healthy margins
  • Key in orders and estimates promptly
  • Maintain a professional office appearance
  • Identify opportunities to improve margins of sale
  • Monitor market conditions in relation to our competitors
  • Negotiate with vendors to keep costs down
  • Build strong and successful relationships with new and old clients
  • Evaluate customer problems and needs and help create solutions
  • Research accounts and follow through on point of contact info from outside sales leads
  • Be a Team-Player for your success and the company as a whole

  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Outlook, Word and Excel
