Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Perform tasks related to four-handed dentistry, ensuring efficiency during procedures.
- Handle medical imaging tasks as required, including X-rays and other diagnostic imaging.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support the front desk with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is essential for effective communication and patient care.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient service.
- Proficient in assisting with various orthodontic procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Certification or training in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
