We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of General Manager. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing water districts, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.About the Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the district, including managing staff, coordinating activities with regulatory agencies, and developing and implementing the district's budget. You will also serve as the principal spokesperson for the district and represent us at public and professional functions.Key Responsibilities
- Manage the selection, training, and supervision of staff.
- Coordinate district activities with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with state, local, and federal laws.
- Develop and implement the district's budget and financial strategies.
- Serve as the principal spokesperson for the district and represent us at public and professional functions.
- Oversee public information and education initiatives.
- Monitor district infrastructure and ensure records are maintained.
- Develop and implement programs/projects.
- Secure water supply contracts and serve as principal purchasing agent.
- Confer with district counsel and developers.
- Manage contractors and consultants to ensure district standards are maintained.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:- At least 10 years of experience in a water district or similar agency, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Certification of Water Distribution 2 and Water Treatment 2 for California.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- A valid Class C California State operator's license with a driving record acceptable to the district.
