Overview
As the General Manager of the Smith River Community Services District, you will play a critical role in leading our team and driving the district's strategic vision. With extensive experience in managing water districts and a proven track record of success, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the district and ensuring that we meet our goals and objectives.About the Position
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water resources management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. As General Manager, you will be responsible for:- Managing the selection, training, and supervision of staff.
- Coordinating district activities with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with state, local, and federal laws.
- Developing and implementing the district's budget and financial strategies.
- Serving as the principal spokesperson for the district and representing us at public and professional functions.
- Overseeing public information and education initiatives.
- Monitoring district infrastructure and ensuring records are maintained.
- Developing and implementing programs/projects.
- Securing water supply contracts and serving as principal purchasing agent.
- Conferring with district counsel and developers.
- Managing contractors and consultants to ensure district standards are maintained.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:- At least 10 years of experience in a water district or similar agency, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Certification of Water Distribution 2 and Water Treatment 2 for California.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- A valid Class C California State operator's license with a driving record acceptable to the district.
