Smithers Cannabis Testing Services division is seeking a Field Technician at our Mt. Laurel, NJ location.
The Field Technician works primarily in the field, driving to customer sites and working directly with clients to collect samples in accordance with the applicable New Jersey cannabis regulations and internal standard operating procedures.

The Field Technician works primarily in the field, driving to customer sites and working directly with clients to collect samples in accordance with the applicable New Jersey cannabis regulations and internal standard operating procedures.
Essential Functions
- Follow all internal laboratory and State regulations while collecting samples and driving to and from the laboratory/clients’ sampling site
- Maintain records of samples and transportation data per relevant procedures
- Maintain sampling supply/equipment inventory
- Complete vehicle operational logs and minor maintenance as needed
- Support the laboratory through functions such as organizing, filing of laboratory records, and other duties
- Follow good documentation practices, data integrity principles and safety behaviors
- Ensure proper intake protocols are followed
- Follow all traffic laws
- Coordinate intake activities with management
- Perform other duties as requested by management
- Lift up to 60 lbs.
- Be able to work more than 8 hours per day, on occasion.

- Must be able to comprehend the potential hazards of the chemicals in use and adhere to the proper safety techniques as dictated by the Safety Manual and/or Management.
- Must be able to wear gloves, lab coat, eye protection, sleeves, hearing protection, pesticide suit, plastic booties, dust masks, a respirator and a face mask.
- Must be able to understand and follow laboratory safety standards.
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum
- Confident navigating by using maps and GPS.
- One to three year(s) prior or equivalent experience as a driver preferred.
- Maintain a current driver's license and an excellent driving record.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to pass the Cannabis Regulatory Commission background check for Laboratory Agent registration.
