What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Course Turf Irrigation Specialist; Early Morning Watering position at Smithfield City?
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a Full-Time position for the duration of the Golf Season. We are simply looking for a candidate to water dry areas on the Golf Course!
EXAMPLES OF EXPECTATIONS AND DUTIES
1. Pull hoses and set sprinklers on dry areas throughout the Golf Course.
2. Will be using a utility vehicle to move hoses and sprinklers to areas in need of watering.
3. Some hand watering will be needed.
4. Ability to follow instructions and memorize location of valves throughout the course.
5. Understand the etiquette of golf and be aware of customers playing golf.
6. Must be courteous and understanding with customers.
7. Needs to have good verbal skills when interacting with customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of watering turfgrass and/or the ability to learn quickly.
- Understanding the basics of golf.
- Basic experience with watering systems or the ability to learn.
- Must have normal color vision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Frequently required to use hands and arms to operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Frequently required to walk, sit, and communicate.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift weights up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Works daily near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, exhaust fumes and turf chemicals.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy in field settings.
- Turf staff will work early morning and short weekend hours.
- Watering specialist works mostly from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
