What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Paraprofessionals - Per Diem position at Smithfield Public Schools?
This employee is responsible for carrying out the directions from the classroom teacher as appropriate as the paraprofessional for whom he / she is substituting. Duties of this position include but are not limited to :
- Follows established Individual Educational Plans to improve socially significant behaviors under the supervision of the Teacher and Building Principal / Director of Grants
- Incorporates specific educational objectives into the context of on-going activities, as appropriate
- Facilitates opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills
- Communicates with students' parents via communication log
- Schedules activities as directed
- Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role playing or as otherwise directed by the Teacher
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- May need assistance with toileting and lifting,
- Other duties as assigned.
