Job Summary
The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. As the initial point of contact, you will be responsible for ensuring that every guest feels valued and respected from the moment they arrive at Smithfield Landing.
Main Responsibilities
- Promote a positive image of Smithfield Landing by providing exceptional customer service and adhering to our mission statement: To provide the most enjoyable eating and sleeping experience possible to our patrons through outstanding service, superb product, and great personalities in a unique, comfortable setting...every day...RIGHT NOW.
- Welcome and warmly greet all guests, seating them at tables or in waiting areas as needed.
- Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible.
- Provide guests with menus and inform them of their server's name upon seating.
- Record guest names and the number of people in their party, providing them with an estimated waiting time when immediate seating is limited.
- Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation, ensuring servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
- Call out the name and number of the party when tables become available.
- Maintain communication with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and guests to ensure dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.
- Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
- Inform guests of establishment specialties and features.
- Receive and record guests' dining reservations.
- Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies, cleaning them as needed.
- Direct guests to coatrooms and waiting areas such as lounges.
- Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fulfill responsibilities of fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Requirements

- Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
