The Houstonoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aProject Designerto join our team.
Working with us, you will:
- Create and develop planning and design concepts or support lead designers.
- Mentor, provide oversight, and monitor the design work of others to ensure integrated and cohesive designs.
- Present design solutions to client representatives and/or design review committees.
- Supervise the development of renderings and presentation drawings for client presentations and internal meetings.
- Develop trusted relationships with clients.
- Participate in recruitment and coaching process as requested.
An ideal candidate has:
- A bachelor's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
- LEED AP preferred. Must be eligible to take the Architectural Registration Examination.
- Working knowledge of engineering systems; can successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and build client relationships and trust.
- Strong mentoring, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- High proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Experience leading other designers and design teams.
