The Washington, DCoffice of SmithGroupis looking for aSenior Audiovisual (AV) Designerto join our team.

Working with us, you will:

• Have project responsibility through all phases of design and coordination from budgets, conceptual/schematic design through construction documents.
• Oversee all aspects of digital networks inclusive of audio, video, control, voice and data, and security systems.
• Produce systems documentation such as functional block drawings showing audio, video and control systems interconnections, electrical drawings, facilities drawings, etc.
• Create audiovisual systems specifications outlining functional requirements for all audio, video and control systems in each area and equipment lists as appropriate.
• Provide audiovisual leadership as the primary point of contact between the systems integrator, the project team, and the client to ensure a successful systems implementation.
• 5-10% domestic travel may be required.

An ideal candidate has:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field
• 10 years of consulting and design experience working as an Audiovisual Designer
• Valid Credential in relevant field preferred including Registered Communications Distribution Designer, Certified Technology Specialist - Design, Physical Security Professional, Certified Protection Professional, CPTED.
• Experience with structured cabling systems, network electronics, and electronic security systems preferred.
• The advanced ability to manage client relationships, project team coordination and design team project management.
• The ability to communicate with clients, build relationships and trust.
• A working knowledge of interior acoustics and relationship to audio systems functionality.
• Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and formal documentation.
• Self-starter mentality to contribute to process improvements in addition to project work.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with structured cabling systems, network electronics, and electronic security systems preferred.

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $129,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
