What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Delivery Driver (Non Class A) - Part Time position at Smithland Pet & Garden Center?

Smithland Pet & Garden is based in North Bradford, Connecticut, and operates 13 locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut. We look for friendly faces with ready smiles to greet our customers and energetic, resourceful team players with a passion for growing and an appetite to learn.
Job Duties Include:
· Safely operate Company-owned Isuzu FTR 20’ box truck with liftgate. (not-Class A)
· Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
· Load and unload inventory, materials, and equipment onto the truck.
· Provide “white glove” customer service when necessary while performing customer deliveries.
· Deliver inventory to and from company stores, and vendor facilities primarily in western MA & CT.
· Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
· Perform routine inspections of company equipment and trucks to ensure proper function.
· Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
· Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and great communication skills.
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· Must be able to pass a credit-criminal background check and be willing to undergo random drug testing if requested.
· Must have a valid Class D driver's license with a clean driving record in MA, CT, and NY.
· Must have a valid Medical DOT Card or be healthy enough to qualify for one.
· Previous commercial driving experience.
· Must be free of any substance, prescribed or otherwise that impairs work performance,
while on duty.
· Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, sit, stand, stretch, walk, and kneel.
· Operate company assets, including but not limited to up to a 26” box truck, forklifts, hi-lo, pallet jacks, tips, rolling carts, and dollies.
