What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine Setup person Milling position at Smiths Group?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Understand blueprints job plans and operation instructions to assure parts are manufactured to specs.
- Proficient in understanding GCode
- Able to inspect a workpiece using micrometer calipers height gauge optical comparator and gauges.
- Set up machines using verbal / written instructions provided by programmer / engineer to produce a part for First Article Inspection. When part passes FAI you will turn the production over to an operator after instructing them on the production of the part..
- Troubleshoot problems during the standard production machining process
- Train machine operators to run production jobs after part passes FAI.
- Know how to operate Haas Milling Centers and or Lathes is a plus.
- Experience using CNC probing systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of 5 Axis CNC machines is a plus.
- Able to perform all types of deburring as needed
Qualifications : Requirements :
35 Years of experience in similar roles.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
