Job Description
- Construct N/C programs and supporting documentation. Maintain elements of the manufacturing database including documentation and computer files for standards, methods, tooling and inspection.
- Under general supervision; carries out duties pertaining to the tooling and matching of parts, applying standard techniques and procedures as well as part programming requirements for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines.
- Reports production problems caused by the incorrect manufacturing process, tooling, or programming methods to immediate supervisor.
- Check other CNC programs as required for programming accuracy utilizing J.C.I. standard methods prior to a new or revised program being released to the shop floor.
- Generates actual part programs for the CNC turning and machining center utilizing necessary computer programming equipment, plus specifies correct machining data, tool geometry, current manufacturing/processing methods, and work holding specifications.
- Maintains orderly files and reporting system for all customers and J.C.I. programs.
- Applies knowledge, when required, for manufacturing parts from raw material to finished part specifications utilizing manual lathes, mills, or drilling machines, as required.
- Must be able to read and be able to interpret J.C.I. engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing requirements.
- Involves in Lean Manufacturing projects and events
- Completes other tasks as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- Requires a two year Associates Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3-6 years on-the-job experience in the Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering field.
- Requires basic hands-on knowledge of machine tool operations, processing, and work holding methods in order to assume the responsibilities of the position.
- Must have previous experience with EdgeCAM or other CAM system, CAD (3 D Model a plus) and have basic knowledge of PC unit.
Hourly Range:
$36.00 - $45.00 (USD - dependent on experience)
