Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain 3D laser scanners (Faro & Trimble) and total stations to perform geometric surveys and collect accurate field data.
- Register and process point cloud data for project analysis and reporting.
- Assist in developing survey strategies and executing data acquisition tasks for diverse projects.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure data accuracy and support the development of site models and as-built drawings.
- Prepare survey reports and deliverables based on collected data, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Expected to travel 50% of the time for site visits to support survey and inspection job scopes and collect data required for analysis. Travel may occur on weekends and occasionally nights.
- Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relay project updates and status to other disciplines such as engineering, project management, sales, and operations.
- Candidate should possess strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in order to meet project deliverable deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with 3D laser scanning and total station equipment.
- Proficiency in software for point cloud registration (such as Trimble Realworks or similar).
- Familiarity with Autocad, Navisworks, or other BIM software/Tools
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often in challenging outdoor conditions.
- Relevant certifications or technical training in surveying and geomatics is preferred.
