What are the responsibilities and job description for the Terminal Supervisor (Night Shift) position at Smitty's Supply, Inc.?
Supervise by giving guidance & direction to Tanker Unloaders, Railcar Unloaders, and Short Bulk Loaders on how to operate and maintain equipment while adhering to an internal & regulatory policies and procedures. Instilling morale with subordinates to work as a team with all team members while leading by example being a role model.
Position Responsibilities
Position responsibilities may include and are not limited to the following :
- Lead subordinates in safety compliance by maintaining a safe working environment and following safety standards.
- Terminal Housekeeping : Responsibilities to include but not limited to paying close attention to detail regarding spills, organization of stored items, and organization of tankers while maintaining general order, and organization of terminal yard.
- Follow the Companies ISO processes and procedures.
- Complete required documentation accurately and completely.
- Assist Training Manager to develop and maintain cross trained team members.
- Conduct employee training in equipment operation, safety, processes, and procedures in one-on-one and group settings.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Must be able to take accurate tank readings.
- Must be able to calculate total gallons to determine tank capacity to hold unloaded product.
- Must maintain tanks and tank farm processes regarding drainage and cleaning per EPA regulations.
- Must follow flushing procedures.
- Must be able to document quantities and components on in-house paperwork.
- Must be able to draw samples per procedures for laboratory analysis.
- Must be able to operate pumps, valves, and connect to correct piping for transfers.
- Participate in equipment setups and change overs.
- Evaluate daily performance of subordinates. When deficiencies exist, develop, and implement action plan or measures to recover.
- Attend and participate in Departmental and general meetings.
Salary : $20 - $22
