About Us:
SML Packaging Solutions designs and builds customized automation equipment for bottling and packaging plants. We specialize in case packers, bottle handling systems, and other custom solutions. As we continue to grow, we’re looking to add a hands-on, mechanically inclined team member to help us build and assemble our machines with precision and pride.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler / Mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude to help assemble case packers, grid packers, and related equipment. You’ll work closely with our engineering and shop team to bring our machines from concept to finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble case packers, grid systems, and subcomponents from blueprints or CAD drawings.
- Read and interpret mechanical schematics, drawings, and bill of materials.
- Perform mechanical fitting, drilling, tapping, and fabrication work as needed.
- Troubleshoot and adjust mechanical assemblies during build and testing phases.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, welders, and technicians to complete builds on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of mechanical assembly, machine building, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with tools such as drills, taps, saws, grinders, pneumatic tools, etc.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed assembly instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Welding and/or electrical knowledge is a plus (but not required).
- Must be punctual, dependable, and a team player.
