Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing transactions accurately and efficiently. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers by handling cash, credit, and debit transactions, as well as assisting with retail sales and maintaining the checkout area.
Duties
- Process customer transactions using the POS system with accuracy and speed.
- Handle cash register operations including cash handling, balancing the register at the end of shifts, and ensuring all transactions are recorded properly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Assist in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Supervise junior staff members during busy periods to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area to create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Utilize phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries over the phone.
- Promote sales by engaging with customers and suggesting additional products or services.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in using cash registers and POS systems is a plus.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on phone etiquette when interacting with customers.
