As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling transactions, assisting customers, and maintaining an organized checkout area.
Duties
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs.
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance the shopping experience.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision while ensuring compliance with store policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area to ensure a welcoming environment.
- Assist with product demos and provide information about promotions to encourage sales.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries related to store services.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse customers.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Experience with POS systems is an advantage.
