Role Objective/Summary:
The Coffee Lab - Baker plays a critical role baking our specialty breads that we produce in house daily. To improve and grow our baking team, we are looking for bakers who are passionate about all things bread! As a baker, you will oversee assembly breads, baking & display breads for sale, inventory checks, sanitation and organization of equipment. As an ideal candidate you will have a sharp attention to detail to make sure that our products are properly made and stored. This role requires consistent baking skills, professionalism, strong organizational skills, good communication and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Standards:
- Follow established bread assembly and baking procedures to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
Inventory Management:
- Conduct accurate and timely inventory checks and report findings to the Baking Manager.
- Practice FIFO (First In, First Out) to ensure proper inventory rotation and minimize waste.
Cleanliness and Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace by adhering to cleaning schedules and practicing “clean as you go.
- Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
Training and Implementation:
- Participate in training for new products and processes, implementing them efficiently.
- Stay informed of company announcements and operational updates, ensuring timely execution of changes.
Communication and Problem-Solving:
- Maintain open and professional communication with the Baking Manager, promptly reporting any issues or concerns.
Accountability:
Bakers are expected to meet the standards outlined in these responsibilities and uphold the expectations of the role. Consistent failure to meet these standards or demonstrate the required professionalism and operational performance may result in re-evaluation of the role, which could lead to additional training or separation from the position.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service.
- Valid Food Handlers Certificate.
- Knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- Experienced in baking/cooking is preferred but not required. Casual home baking/cooking is a plus.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work 20 hours per week or more.
