LOCATION: Feed Mill – White Pine, TN
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Feed Mill Operator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our state-of-the-art Feed Mill while providing exceptional customer service to our local farmers/producers and fellow employees. This position is responsible for providing quality and accurate feed orders quickly and efficiently, as well as maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Feed Mill
- Schedule feed deliveries efficiently
- Manage feed truck drivers on their deliveries
- Mix and load feed trucks/ customers
- Manage bag and bulk inventory levels
- Reorder products weekly
- Negotiate and purchase corn from local producers
- Coordinate with our Waynesville location on feed orders
- Keep and maintain weekly checks on bulk horse feed needs with customers
- Work with the Rockford Feed Mill to order and schedule feed coming ProTrition

Provide Excellent Customer Service
- Take feed orders
- Help answer farmers’ questions to meet their needs
- Work with our outside sales team to meet farmers’ needs
- Coordinate with farmers’ schedules when planning deliveries
- Formulate custom blends to meet farmers’ needs
- Build relationships with farmers and other Co-op managers that we service

Feed Safety
- Collect samples from each load coming in and each batch going out
- Follow feed safety rules and guidelines for safely manufacturing feed
- Conduct routine cleaning of the mixer, building & trucks

Maintenance
- Conduct routine maintenance on feed trucks, mixer, loader, etc.
- Keep up with tags, insurance & DOT regulation for feed trucks

Office
- Receive invoices for products coming in
- Invoice customers for products going out
- Conduct feed assemblies to build items into inventory at the feed mill and other retail locations.
- Update feed price calculations on an as needed basis
- Communicate with our regional accounting to manage paying invoices
- Communicate with multiple vendors to order and book commodities
- Work hand in hand with the fertilize manager on operations for the entire White Pine complex
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
- CDLs (preferred but not required)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQURIEMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience working in agriculture (preferred)
