The EHS Specialist will work to create and enforce a culture of safety within the Smooth-On organization. The ideal candidate will implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure it is in compliance with all federal and internal health and safety rules and address government regulations and standards (may include OSHA, EPA, lSO, DOT, NRC, CAP, NFPA and/or other governmental regulatory agencies as necessary). This candidate will also review reports and findings to monitor performance and detect trends related to health and safety.
- RCRA Waste Management - Manage all aspects of RCRA and non-hazardous waste removal from the facility, including but not limited to:

- Selecting and negotiating pricing with waste disposal vendors.
- Working with Production, Quality Assurance, etc., to make waste determinations (e.g., quarantine, rework, hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste).
- Creating waste profiles.
- Maintaining an accurate inventory of waste on a daily basis.
- Coordinating, organizing, and staging waste pickups.
- Maintaining waste disposal records for EPA and DEP reporting.
- Ensuring proper permitting, handling, inspection, and transportation of waste in accordance with all applicable RCRA and PA DEP regulations.
- Creating waste policies and procedures.
- Scheduling and leading waste disposal events.
- EHS Policies and Procedures.

- Work closely with the Company’s Production, Quality Assurance, Shipping, Facilities, and Engineering and Maintenance departments to advise and enforce EHS policies and procedures across to ensure the highest level of safety, health and environmental protection. Such policies and procedures include, but are not limited to: Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Energized Work, Flammable storage, etc.
- Evaluate changes to operations and maintenance procedures to ensure that new procedures and/or modified procedures do not adversely impact EHS standards.
- Maintain EHS records in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and government regulations.
- Ensure employees consistently exhibit behaviors that prevent injury and protect the environment.
- Champion safety committee meetings.
- Manage purchasing and inventory of safety equipment.
- Manage repository of all raw material safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure all SDSs are up-to-date.
- EHS Investigations and Audits

- Lead investigations and perform root cause analysis for on-site accidents, injuries, and other incidents. Prepare remediation plans to ensure EHS standards are met.
- Compile data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.
- Perform equipment, PP&E and job hazard analyses and risk assessments to ensure compliance to the highest level of safety, health and environmental protection.
- Audit Production housekeeping checklists and records.
- Conduct periodic inspections of safety-sensitive equipment and production areas, including but not limited to: powered industrial trucks, eye-wash stations, spill kits, SCBA respirator equipment, flammables and toluene storage areas.
- Perform regular EHS walkthrough inspections to identify hazards, document findings, recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and analyze safety metrics, providing accurate reports to onsite management and corporate reporting systems to track safety performance.
- Trainings and Testing

- Ensure that all applicable employees are trained and certified in accordance with OSHA, RCRA, DOT, IATA, and IMDG requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of trainings, in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Perform respirator fit tests on employees.
- Perform air sampling testing as needed.
- General
- Act in an advisory capacity to management on all matters of injury and illness prevention, industrial hygiene and environmental regulations/requirements.
- Monitor for compliance with regulations, including local state, and federal health and safety codes and standards.
- Must foster continuous improvement in EHS processes and and outcomes.
