Job Description

Salary : $25 to $30 an hour

Position Overview :

The IT & Equipment Coordinator supports Smoshs creative and technical teams by managing, maintaining, and ensuring the operational readiness of all office and production equipment. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining smooth day-to-day production operations by providing troubleshooting support, managing inventory, and researching emerging technologies to improve workflows. Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT & Equipment Coordinator collaborates closely to deliver seamless technical support for the company.

Core Competencies :

Strong knowledge of production and AV equipment, including cameras, audio gear, lighting, grip, and post-production tools
Familiarity with Windows and Mac OS systems with the ability to troubleshoot common issues
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented approach
Passion for production technology and a willingness to stay current with industry trends
Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Possession of a valid drivers license

Key Responsibilities : Equipment Management :

Organize, maintain, and co-manage production equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio gear, grip equipment, and post-production tools.

Track and manage equipment inventory, ensuring proper check-in / check-out processes and accurate record-keeping.

Coordinate regular maintenance, repairs, and replacements to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Technical Troubleshooting :

Provide "Level 1" technical support for employees, addressing equipment issues in the office, on set, and in the studio.

Partner with IT and production teams to resolve technical challenges efficiently.

Ensure all equipment is set up and functioning correctly for shoots and other production activities.

Research and Development :

Research new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve production workflows and enhance efficiency.

Assist in evaluating and recommending hardware / software upgrades or new equipment purchases based on production needs.

Test and implement new production tools and processes.

Collaboration and Support :

Work with production, post-production, and operations teams to anticipate and meet equipment needs.

Collaborate with the IT department to align technical and operational standards for production equipment.

Occasionally provide hands-on support during shoots and events to ensure equipment operates smoothly.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience managing production equipment in a film, television, or digital content environment

Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and production workflows

Knowledge of production-related hardware and software, including Adobe CC Suite, OBS, BlackMagic ATEM Software Control, and similar tools
