We are looking for a talented New Product Development Engineer to join our growing team. A New Product Development Engineer is responsible for participating in the planning and implementation of all quality activities associated with the development of new or changed products or processes, including requirements for and presentation of PPAP for customer approval.
What you will be responsible for:
- Determine quality requirements and implement systems for control for product manufacturing processes.
- Participate in the development of Process Flow and PFMEA
- Lead team in development and implementation of Control Plan and Inspection plans and all necessary checklists.
- Assist to determine product testing needs: assure test methods and schedule and oversee the testing process. Assuring accuracy and results reported effectively.
- Analysis of test results and interpretation and communication of results to team.
- Lead team in the gauge design, sourcing and gauge acceptance process.
- Assure gauge calibration and gauge work instruction effectively implemented.
- Lead team in Measurement Systems Analysis
- Analyze statistical data and results and provide analysis and assistance in any required corrections.
- Lead team in the all required Dimensional testing and reporting, Measurement studies, Capability Analysis and assist in the problem solving process and any deviations to requirements.
- Assure planning and completion for PPAP requirements
- Maintain PPAP tracker and provide status to product team as required
- Participate in all program launch meetings
- Participate Run at Rate / Capacity Analysis
- Participate in all production trials and validation builds
- Lead in internal audits. Provide audit reports to team track progress of corrective actions. Report progress of corrective actions as required.
- Participate in all external audits as required.
- Collection of all PPAP required documentation.
- Submission of PPAP documentation into the controlled documentation system
- Present PPAP documents to customer approval
- Lead team in any problem solving and corrective actions responses and implementation of need corrections
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What will you bring to the table (Skills/Experience Required):
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerancing as well as automotive body grid systems would be an advantage.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to lead all aspects of the quality related process during Product
- Development through Customer Approval of new production and
- Engineering changes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- and PC knowledge. Must have ability to work on multiple projects with
- minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task and manage
- competing deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment. Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentially of workplace information.
- Three to five years experience in quality assurance positions of responsibility
- to include knowledge of Fundamentals of Probability and Statistics, Statistical
- Quality Control, Design of Experiments, Quality Planning and Management,
- Metrology or Inspection Methods and Equipment, Quality Cost Analysis,
- Reliability, Maintainability, Techinical specificaiton / Drawing Reading,
- Geometric Tolerancing, IMDS / Quality Information Systems and AIAG and VDA Automotive Systems and Procedure and Conformance requirements.
- One (1) plus year experience in related field; Bachelor's Degree in
- Engineering (or equivalent) required ASQC certification (CQE) preferred.
- English language skills
