What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician-Quality I position at SMP Automotive Systems Alabama Inc?
Purpose:
- To oversee the audits of process and products within the department to which they are assigned. This includes control plan audits and the verification of data taken on a daily basis to verify that process controls are being utilized
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge:
- Business Writing
- General Computer Operation
- Manufacturing Concepts
- High School Diploma
- Proficient in computer operation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications preferred
- Good Communication Skills
- Planning and organizational skills
Main Tasks:
- Interface with quality engineering functions to secure documentation needed for successful audits
- Daily process audits designed to verify the process controls in use are being utilized and functioning
- Process Audits
- Ensure specifications are met according to the Control Plan in assigned area
- Create and Follow up on Quality Alerts
- Assist with Containment when defects occur
- Download reading into the color care software
- Advise the color harmony team when the readings are out of tolerance
- Responsible for measuring orange peel and gloss using the Wave scan and Gloss meters
- Assist the Color Technicians when needed
- Perform related office and clerical functions such as, data entry and filing.
