What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Foreman position at SMP Welding?
SMP Welding is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent for Ironworker and Millwright projects. The Field Superintendent will be capable of safely managing projects with responsibility to oversee, problem solve, and manage crew to ensure proper completion of the project in a safe and timely manner.
Candidate must have the ability to travel, problem solve, lead a team, and organize tasks and workflow for efficient, on-time project completion.
Working Superintendent Duties & Responsibilities:
Uphold OSHA and company safety requirements
Represent SMP Welding in a positive manner.
Travel from project to project on an as-needed basis: primarily local to Mentor, Ohio with nationwide travel required
Travel typically 1 - 2 weeks per project
· Reviews, understand, and communicates work assignments and plans to the crew/team
·Works with Project Manager at the plant and executes project
·Plans for and provides the 6 elements of work to the crew/team everyday: Material, Manpower, Information, Equipment, Environment, and Tools.
·Excellent understanding of industrial work site equipment, including operating ability, setup and maintenance requirements: forklift, lull, small cranes.
Significant rigging experience.
·Has a valid drivers' license and is approved to drive company vehicles.
·Meets or exceeds project safety, quality, and profit goals for project activities.
·Monitor and communicate daily production activity ensuring the crew/ team perform at the desired production levels.
