SMR Rapid Response, LLC. is seeking a full time Spill Response Supervisor in training for our busy Ashland, VA field services location.
As a Spill Response Supervisor in training, you will become an key player in our field services division. The primary duties of this role will be to travel to assigned projects and perform services as needed. This may include manual labor to set up and break down equipment, assist and/operate equipment including, but not limited to: water blasters, pressure washers, surface cleaners, hand tools etc. The clients may range from retail gas stations to industrial sites.
The Spill Response Supervisor in training is an entry level position with a fast track up the ladder. In this role, you will be assigned a high level mentor and a plan for the path forward. We will reward you for maintaining the path in the form of frequent hourly rate increases and the benefits that come with additional responsibility. Under the direction of an industry veteran with 30 plus years experience in building winning teams, you will learn the path to success from one of the best.
Hours for this role may vary based upon project and client needs. Working hours may be scheduled in advance or off hours/non-scheduled as the work dictates. Typical project start times may be early morning (0500-700) to afternoon and overnight.
The basic requirements for this role are:
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Drivers license with low/no points and free of accidents for the last 3 years
- Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one in 30 days (required DOT physical and drug screening)
- Current HAZWOPER or ability to pass a class in the first 30 days
- Confined space entry certification or the ability to pass a class in the first 30 days
- RCRA training in last 24 months or the ability to pass a class in the first 45 days
- Current TWIC card or ability to obtain one in 30 days
- General labor experience
- Minimum of one year general labor experience OR 3 years of related industry experience (construction, bio cleanup, asbestos abatement, heavy equipment operation)
- Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening
- Ability to pass random and post incident/accident drug screenings
- Ability to lift 50Lbs
- Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions
- Ability to work a varied schedule that includes nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to maintain on call availability on assigned weeks
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all staff and customers as needed
- Ability to properly complete paperwork including daily work sheets and transportation documents as needed
- Ability to utilize electronic project management applications and access customer project portals as needed
