Maintenance

Summary: 

Maintains equipment at the plant, performs a variety of machine repairs, facility repairs, coordinate equipment installation and perform preventative maintenance. Electrical experience required.

The right candidate will - 

• Use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as specialized equipment and electronic testing devices.
• Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Operate cutting torch or welding equipment.
• Troubleshoot and fix faulty equipment. Replace or fix worn or broken parts, where necessary, or make adjustments.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions.
• Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
• Do routine preventive maintenance and ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Keep records of maintenance and repair work.
• Repair and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, and specialized equipment in the plant.
• Inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications.
• Obtain supplies and repair parts from suppliers, distributors or the storeroom. Coordinate outside contractors, oversee maintenance of air-conditioning and heating systems.
• Provide training and instruction to tower classified personnel regarding equipment usage.
• Frequently walk, stand, climb, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
• Occasionally be exposed to outside weather and extreme hot/cold (non-weather).

What you'll need - 

• Basic electrical classes, certification, or outside apprenticeship
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license required
