We are currently seeking to hire a Flexographic Pressman / Print Operator for our Sterling Heights location. As a Flexographic Pressman / Print Operator you will coordinate job set up for the presses. Formulate and blend inks as required and organize inks for the press to run.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Mixing, Blending, and storing inks
- Setting up and operating the press : Install and adjust plates, rollers, inks, and dies, and start and stop the press
- Monitor the feeding, printing, & racking processes
- Adjusting settings : Change the speed, temperature, ink flow, and pressure tolerances
- Loading and positioning unprinted materials
- Cleaning and lubricating the press
- Packing and labeling finished products
- Checking quality : Pull proofs to verify ink coverage, alignment, and registration
- Maintaining quality : Monitor quality throughout the printing run and adjust as needed
- Ensuring safety : Keep the equipment in safe working order and notify supervision of needed repairs
- Delivering finished products : Deliver the printed materials to the designated area
- Understanding documents : Read job orders and other documents to determine quantities, colors, and special instructions
- Training others : Teach and mentor less experienced employees
