Description
As a maintenance engineer II, you are responsible for responding to and attending to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance on rooms, tools, and equipment, visually inspecting machines, and performing basic repairs on all types of equipment. The candidate must have a solid knowledge of hand and power tools, have basic skills in all maintenance categories, and display proficiency in any one of the categories, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry finish skills, air conditioning, refrigeration, or kitchen equipment.
Essential Functions

- Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
- Communicate with guests or team members to resolve maintenance issues.
- Responsible for conducting minor repairs and maintenance on plumbing, physical structure, electrical fixtures, machinery, HVAC, and kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Perform furniture repair.
- Perform plumbing repairs (i.e., clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, handles, drain fittings, etc.).
- Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
- Perform and maintain work according to local, state, and federal codes.
- Paint designated areas.
- Repair and finish sheet rock.
- Repair all types of wall coverings.
- Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
- Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and projects.
- Works safely, not harming or injuring oneself or others. Wears and uses the appropriate safety clothing/equipment supplied. Follows all maintenance instructions.
- Supports a safe hotel by applying hotel policies and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
- Responsible for reporting unsafe conditions or hazards to management. If possible, repair them immediately.
- Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language, and conduct.
- Availability to travel to all company property locations within and outside of the United States.
- Responsible for performing job duties in all company property locations within and outside the United States.
- Safely perform job duties in all company property locations within and outside the United States.
- Also, other duties may be required as directed by your manager.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- A minimum of (2) years of general maintenance experience.
- A minimum of (1) year of hospitality experience preferred.
- High School education preferred.
- Able to speak and understand Basic English preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment to resolve issues.
- Flexible schedule. Able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to safely climb a ladder up to 12 feet when required.
