Job Title: Screen Print Technician
Department: Assembly/Screen Print
Location: 7300 ACC Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27617
Reports To: Assembly Supervisor or Operations Manager
Job Summary:
The Screen Print Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining screens used in the screen printing process within a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role involves coating, exposing, developing, reclaiming, and inspecting screens to ensure high-quality prints. The technician must operate various equipment, adhere to company policies and procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare screens by coating them with photosensitive emulsion or direct emulsion films.
- Secure artwork and screens in the frame of a vacuum printer for exposure.
- Wash unexposed emulsion/films from screens and ensure proper drying.
- Fabricate stencils by adhering films with specified images to screens.
- Reclaim and scrub screens for reuse, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Set up, operate, adjust, clean, and maintain the following equipment:
- Metal Halide Lamp
- Polycop Table
- Stretching Table
- Pressure Washer
- Pin Hole Light
- Inspect screens for defects before release and perform necessary repairs.
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience in screen printing or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of screen preparation, coating, exposure, and reclaiming processes.
- Ability to operate and maintain screen printing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Basic mechanical skills and ability to perform minor repairs.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/fabrication facility environment.
- Exposure to chemicals, inks, and cleaning solutions (with appropriate PPE provided).
- Regular standing, lifting, and repetitive hand motions required.
