What are the responsibilities and job description for the TCar Operator position at Smurfit Kappa North America?
The T-Car Operator is responsible for following all safety rules and practices, reading factory orders, converting schedules and other documents to learn customer requirements.
Primary Duties
- Operation of T-car and conveyors in a safe manner
- Locate stock before the start of run
- Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines
- Maintain neat, orderly and safe stacks of stock in storage area
- Pull masters as needed
- Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs
- Communicate with supervision problems with load building off of corrugator stackers
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
- Keep conveyor systems and designated areas clean
- Must be forklift certified for loading units onto conveyor system
- Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies
- All other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to speak, read, comprehend, and write legibly in English
- In good physical condition, i.e., able to lift 25-50# on a consistent basis
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred
- Basic computer skills, preferred
