SMX is seeking a Junior Information System Security Officer (Jr. ISSO) – Cross Domain Solution (CDS) to provide foundational cybersecurity support for systems that facilitate secure data transfer between networks of varying classification levels. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with security implementation, monitoring, and compliance activities in accordance with established policies and frameworks. The Jr. ISSO works under the guidance of senior cybersecurity professionals to ensure compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, support assessment and authorization (A&A) processes, and contribute to the security posture of CDS environments. In accordance with Army Regulation 25-2, the ISSO will assist the Information System Security Managers (ISSM) in meeting their duties and responsibilities. This is a full-time onsite position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cross Domain Solution Security Support :
Assist in monitoring and enforcing security policies for CDS systems in alignment with DoD and organizational cybersecurity guidelines.
Assist with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process by gathering security control evidence and documentation.
Monitor system logs and alerts under the supervision of senior ISSOs to identify security anomalies.
Assist in reviewing and documenting configuration changes to CDS systems in accordance with security policies.
Receive training on CDS security best practices and compliance requirements.
