What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator position at SMX?
SMX is seeking a Network Administrator to provide operation and maintenance support systems and / or networks to include system administration, troubleshooting and repair of existing systems and / or networks at the SMX Elevate Lab in Fayetteville, NC. The Network Administrator will join our dynamic team to provide 24 / 7 support, ensuring network connectivity, full-motion video feeds, and general IT ownership.
This position requires a DoD TS / SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administrate network hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, firewalls, and other related hardware
- Monitor and respond to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
- Configure and install network hardware and software
- Support end users with technical support and training
- Maintain the security of the network
- Provide troubleshooting and resolution for network infrastructure and components
- Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
Required Skills & Experience
CompTIA Security CE or equivalent Computing Environment (CE) certification
