SMX is currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community Markets. This position provides an exciting opportunity for you to play a leadership role at SMX, engage with the Executive Leadership team, and apply the breadth of resources available in our organization to critical technology and mission challenges. Specific focus will be on the DoD, Space, and Intelligence Community.
Responsibilities :
The breadth of our portfolio and the scale of our $1B company ensure that you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands. You should have a proven record of successfully growing business on large and strategic opportunities, and an ability to work collaboratively, a deep understanding in one or more of the areas within the DoD, Space and IC customers and markets, and the ability to provide the strategic direction in collaboration with the P&L Leaders for this market. In this role, a typical day will include :
- Collaborating with market P&L customer divisions to drive new business wins through industry-leading best practices to gain customer intimacy by understanding requirements and proposing innovative solutions and winning value propositions that support their mission.
- Heavy focus on hands-on driving and coordinating new sales opportunities across all business divisions, leading winning proposal efforts, and supporting tracking of key business development metrics and reporting through SMX CRM.
- Managing business development and capture teams across target markets with primary focus on all phases of the business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification, through capture, proposal to include hands-on driving wins.
- Leading and managing strategic capture and business development for teams / opportunities in the pipeline.
- Hands-on ownership in supporting winning proposals throughout the entire process and comfortable in both individual contributor and team leader roles spanning matrix support of P&L operating divisions.
- Experience working with leading technology providers including AWS, Microsoft, and leading-edge platforms and technologies.
- Establishing and maintaining C-level relationships across the target portfolio to include customer, partner, and industry organizations.
