What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Reliability Engineer position at SMX?
SMX is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to support USINDOPACOM J6 portfolio of programs. This position is a hybrid between Camp H.M. Smith Marine Corps Base and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.
This position requires a DoD TS / SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Independently manage and monitor tasks as directed from the J68 and designees
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in Information / Security Systems to J6 Program Managers, project engineers, Government and Industry partners to ensure stakeholders are aligned to meet J6 Innovation objectives
- Build systems to manage IT infrastructure and platforms to enable continuous integration of Information Systems and C4 applications within INDOPACOM J6 networks
- Contribute to future state design initiatives, including but not limited to Information Domains, multi-security level and hybrid cloud enterprise solutions
- Provide technical input and feedback to Agile Product Owners / Scrum Masters, Systems and Integration Engineers, Program and Project Management to assist in continued maturation of Agile Lifecycle Methodologies
- Participate in formal and informal technical exchanges with interagency and industry partners in support of J6 Innovation initiatives
- Monitor and maintain systems health across J6 owned / operated networks
- Assist with the troubleshooting and resolution of incidents to minimize downtime
- Conduct post-incident review and lead root cause analysis
- Ensure system discrepancies are identified, tracked, prioritized and closed in a timely manner
- Identify system performance and scalability improvement opportunities
- Assist with the creation of Agile Workflow Backlogs upon receipt of new requirements
- Coordinate with development and engineering teams to ensure efficient and effective deployment of new solutions and systems
- Establish effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Up to 25% travel

122,500-$183,700 USD
