We have an immediate opportunity for a talented Systems Engineer – Technical Lead who is excited to apply their talents to our customer's challenging project and one who will thrive in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands-on expertise and an excellent understanding of engineering processes supporting large, National defense, Agile software development programs. You will lead a team of system and software engineers, working within a fast-paced environment delivering the infrastructure and end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.
Position location is on-site in Boulder, CO, 5 days per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide engineering leadership and defining the engineering baseline for development teams which include prime and other subcontractors team members.
Develop and implement systems engineering processes.
Design architectures for remote sensor data processing systems.
Ensure work products meet program requirements.
Ensure development work products are aligned with the engineering baseline.
Coordinate with customer representatives, program managers, engineering leadership, software developers, and other members of the systems engineering team.
Required Skills & Experience
Clearance Required: Secret This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. Interim or Active DOD Secret clearance or higher is preferred. Due to the clearance requirement, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Candidate also must agree to participate in a background screen.
BS or advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or another relevant field
10+ years of professional experience in a systems or software engineer position
3+ years of professional experience in a technical lead position
Experience leading "badge-less" engineering teams on a large National security contract
Excellent organization skills with exceptional attention to detail
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills & Experience
Domain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing
Experience with general tools such as Excel, MS Project, and Powerpoint
Interim or Active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher
