Your Role
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives by managing project scope, timelines, budget, and resources. The Technical Project Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to effectively lead and guide technical teams in delivering critical infrastructure and information security initiatives.
The Technical Project Management role requires collaboration across the organization, strong analytical and organizational skills, and leadership through influence. The ideal candidate must be:
- A seasoned project manager with the ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects.
- A self-starter, able to operate autonomously and independently.
- Experienced in managing networking, cloud computing, and information security projects.
- An effective communicator, able to succinctly convey complex messages, status, and requirements to both business and technical stakeholders.
The duration for the contract is 6-12 months with possible extensions. Preference for candidates in Seattle, WA or Sacramento, CA. Work will be performed primarily remotely but the candidate will be required to travel (no more than 25%) to Eureka, CA or Baton Rouge, LA for onsite meetings or go live support.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, business outcomes, and deliverables in collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans including timelines, milestones, risk and issue management, and escalations.
- Support vendor selection and onboarding.
- Establish and manage project budget for expenditures.
- Facilitate ongoing prioritization across multiple initiatives, considering impact of change on business users and processes.
- Develop comprehensive and thoughtful rollout plans to iteratively and continuously deliver value and business outcomes to business and technical stakeholders while minimizing impact.
- Establish communication and change management plans to ensure that any required process changes are documented and socialized, business users are supported during significant change, business outcomes are met, and impacts to day-to-day operations are minimized.
- Develop quality control plan and measures to ensure project deliverables meet defined standards and lead team in executing thorough testing efforts to identify and resolve issues.
Skills and Competencies
- Highly organized with demonstrated success managing multiple, concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing networking, telecom, cloud, and/or information security projects.
- Proficiency in multiple project management methodologies including Agile and Lean and experience with Jira.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills: able to build relationships and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Previous experience with managing external vendors in project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7 years of experience in technical project management.
- Experience managing infrastructure, networking, cloud, telecom, and/or information security projects; specific experience managing M365 implementations highly preferred.
- Project management certification (PMP, CSM, etc.) highly preferred.
Salary : $60 - $70
