Overview
The Behavior Technician plays a crucial role in providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. This position involves implementing treatment plans based on Current Trauma Informed principles, collecting data on client progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong understanding of behavioral health practices.

Duties

  • Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by a Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress towards goals.
  • Provide direct support to clients in various settings, including home, school, and community environments.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills and promote independence.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.

Skills

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
  • Experience in social work or patient care, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with behavioral health needs.
  • Proficient in Trauma Informed Practices and deescalation techniques.
  • Strong data collection skills for tracking client progress effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding in challenging situations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
