The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for developing and optimizing acquisition and portfolio credit risk strategies. This role requires a high level of analytical expertise, particularly in data extraction, manipulation, and visualization, with a strong focus on SQL and Python. The ideal candidate is adept at analyzing historical data to spot trends and is passionate about process improvement to drive profitability and growth.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in our Chicago office, located in the West Loop.

Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Strategies:
- Develop and refine acquisition and portfolio credit risk strategies that support business growth and profitability.
- Analyze historical credit data to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and monitor credit risk strategies, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
- Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights and risk assessments.
- Build, maintain, and update comprehensive data reports to support the credit risk team’s efforts.
- Use SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data from various databases.
- Create Python scripts to streamline data processing and automate reporting tasks, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Produce actionable insights through data visualization and reporting tools, translating complex data into clear, digestible information for stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, in the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, manipulation, and automation.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
