Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.
We're looking for an Optomechanical Engineer to join the Snap Lab team!
What you'll do :
- Design CAD sub-assemblies and interfaces to larger CAD assemblies for optical components
- Perform rigorous tolerance analyses to ensure mechanical feasibility of the designs
- Create detailed, toleranced 2D drawings with FAI for optical & mechanical components based on design for manufacturing considering supplier's fabrication methods, and metrology capabilities
- Run structural and thermal FEA simulations to evaluate performance and reliability over a variety of conditions
- Evaluate and select materials capable of achieving high-quality module performance while suitable for mass production
- Travel to and work with overseas suppliers to manufacture components and assist with failure analysis

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position.These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) :
The base salary range for this position is $138,000-$207,000 annually.
Zone B :
The base salary range for this position is $131,000-$197,000 annually.
Zone C :
The base salary range for this position is $117,000-$176,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
