We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Ad Marketplace team at Snap Inc! The Ad Marketplace team is responsible for developing and optimizing bidding, pacing and auction mechanisms for Snap’s advertising ecosystem. As a key member of this team, you will work on cutting-edge technologies to drive revenue growth and enhance user experiences.

What you’ll do :

Develop and maintain high-performance systems for real-time bidding, ad serving and auction systems

Optimize bidding and pacing algorithms to improve advertiser ROI

Design scalable and optimal auction mechanisms to adapt to dynamic market conditions and drive revenue growth

Build new ad products and strategies to simplify ad buying experience and maximize advertiser values

Closely work with Product Managers, Data scientists and XFN stakeholders to develop marketplace strategies balancing long and short term business objectives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Proficiency with backend services or distributed systems

Strong understanding of at least one of the following domains : auction, real-time bidding, budget pacing, delivery forecasts, pricing, and supply optimization

Ability to tackle large and complex technical challenges, come up with innovative solutions and land them with XFN partners

Minimum Qualifications :

BS / BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience

9 years of software development experience, with a focus on building large-scale, distributed systems

Experience with Java and / or Python

Experience in at least one of the ads lifecycle components including targeting, retrieval, ranking, bidding, auction, delivery and measurement

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in one of the following areas : machine learning, backend, large-scale systems, data pipeline

Good product sense and prior experience designing and launching product features

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) () :

The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.

Zone B () :

The base salary range for this position is $218,000-$326,000 annually.

Zone C () :

The base salary range for this position is $195,000-$292,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
