The Job
Our client is seeking a skilled Cisco Wireless Engineer to review, redesign, and implement innovative wireless solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wireless network engineering, particularly with Cisco technologies.
Core Competencies and Skills
Cisco Wireless Technologies : Deep understanding of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), Access Points (APs), and associated technologies (e.g., RF management, mobility, security).
Wireless Protocols : Proficiency in IEEE 802.11 standards (a / b / g / n / ac / ax), Wi-Fi Alliance certifications (e.g., Wi-Fi CERTIFIED), and their applications.
Network Design and Implementation : Ability to design, plan, and implement complex wireless networks, including site surveys, RF planning, and AP placement.
Troubleshooting and Optimization : Expertise in diagnosing and resolving wireless network issues, optimizing performance (e.g., RF interference, channel utilization, roaming), and ensuring high availability.
Security : Knowledge of wireless security best practices, including WPA / WPA2(3) encryption, and guest access.
Automation and Orchestration : Familiarity with network automation tools and orchestration platforms (e.g., Cisco DNA Center) for efficient network management.
Documentation : Ability to create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
